About this Site
WritersCafe.net is a site I registered and launched on October 12, 2000. It was initially intended to evolve into an online community of authors who shared their writing with others, but it’s really just become a place for me to put the things I write. I’ve realized that I really don’t have the drive or stamina to create a thriving online community. I’ve discovered over the last seven years that I seem to lack even the stamina to keep my own site and writing updated.
I decided to change that.
I realized that I either needed to write something of substance or stop calling myself a “writer” or a “budding author.” In redesigning this site in October of 2007, I was happy to come across many things that I had written but had forgotten about. Some evoked actual emotion, and I hope that I’m not the only one who enjoys them at that level. I also came across some evidence that I had been writing lately, just not the kind of writing I consider to be my “preferred genre.” It turns out I do a lot of tech writing. Go figure.
So, for now, and likely for the foreseeable future, WritersCafe.net is just my site. It’s where I post most of the things I write. I redesigned it as a WordPress blog in October 2007 so readers could leave comments without having to email. Also, it makes it a heckuva lot easier to write and forget about web design and maintenance. Ultimately, if people decide they enjoy reading what I write about, I’ll be thrilled to have return guests. On the off chance that someone who enjoys publishing things for money stops by and finds something they like, bonus!
I openly invite your comments and critique, and sincerely hope to correspond with new friends and readers as often as possible.
