Kevin L. McDonald - Poetry

Teirnan’s Rose

Rose, the color of tiny cheeks
And a strong new heart.
Kinetic and vibrant, swirling energy in a blossom
Where petals lay and wait
To stretch out toward the sky
And feel the passionate heat of orange sunlight
Or absorb icy tears from blackened clouds--
A celebration of life through beauty.

Our Teirnan, life spun in a bundle
Born into a fertile world and rooted firm.
May you unfold to find the warm love of family
The heat of a passionate embrace
And the tears of both joy and pain.
Always remember that thorns trace the path to beauty
And from all this, explode with energy
To make the world evolve around you.
