NaNo – Week 2

9:27 am NaNoWriMo, Personal

Update, 10:30pm: I’ll be away from the Internet for the next couple of glorious days, so this is my final word count update until Sunday night! Until further notice, I’m at 14,457.

It’s Day One of Week Two of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). So far, so good. As of this post I have written 12,922 in my NaNoWriMo novel, and I’m still slightly ahead of schedule. Tuesday was a bad day. Wednesday made up for most of it, but I cut a chunk out of my lead that I wanted to hold onto for a while.

Se la vie.

I’m told that Week 2 can be harrowing. We’ll see. Honestly, it’s already been tough. I’m running primarily on self-inflicted shame and intense curiosity. I’ve not read much of what I’ve written, so at the end of it all, I’ve got a story to read. I already feel like the second draft will be mostly about the timeline of events. I’m trying to run two events in parallel, and it gets tricky. I’ve all but given up lining things up perfectly in this draft. Early readers will just have to understand. :-)

Speaking of early readers, this is one of the most difficult things for me – not sharing even a word. I’m used to practically handing out copies of my writing on the corner.
