A Few Haiku

Bankruptcy pending
The flowers are pretty, here
Think I’ll stay a while
Beautiful Labrador
Suddenly attacking throat
Now I’m not so sure
Steam from my coffee
Rising gently in the air
Vapor of my morning
Laying on cut grass
Looking up at the bright stars
Inhaling new life
A lizard slithered
Unaware of my unease
Across my big toe
A bovine munching
His lunch from a day ago
Like it wasn’t “used”
Poetry masquerades
As deep, succinct thinking, and
Calls itself haiku
Peeling an orange
It squirts acid in my eye
It’s final battle
A slap in the face
Capillaries grow bright red
Vengeance will be mine
The sun and the moon
Racing each other daily
Catching at eclipse
Familiar smell
Calm, cool, dark, still, electric
Storm clouds overhead
